Peanut Sauce

This is my most favorite peanut sauce in the entire world. Sometimes when my husband and I go out for Thai food, I’m tempted to make a batch of this and stash it in my purse so I don’t have to order a less tasty extra side for $1.99 (because no place ever gives enough peanut sauce). This is perfect served with Asian Chicken Skewers, or sliced cucumbers (or really any veggie for that matter), or pita chips. In fact, this dip is so versatile and keeps for a couple days in the fridge that I always double it. This recipe originally came from “The New Intercourses: an aphrodisiac cookbook”.


2 tsp Vegetable Oil

2 cloves minces Garlic

1/4 Cup Chicken Broth

2 TBS Unsweetened Coconut Milk

1.5 TBS Creamy Peanut Butter

.5 TBS Crunchy Peanut Butter (this is totally optional, it just adds some great texture to the sauce)

Pinch of Sugar

Step 1: In a small sauce pan set over medium heat, add the vegetable oil and saute the garlic for 1 to 2 minutes being careful not to let it burn.

Step 2: Add the broth, coconut milk, peanut butter, soy sauce, and sugar. Wisk to blend.

Step 3: Bring toa boil, reduce heat,and simmer for 2 minutes to thicken…stirring frequently.
