Roasted Tomato Pizza Sauce

I don’t usually like taking extra steps for doing things because quite often dinner is done in a hurry. However, this sauce literally takes about 10 minutes start to finish and the added taste and texture is well worth the time.  Not only is this far cheaper than store bought pizza sauce but the flavors are unbeatable.

Ingredients:

4 Plum or 5 Roma tomatoes

1 Large Garlic Clove, finely chopped

2 TBS Extra Virgin Olive Oil

2 tsp Sugar

Salt (to taste)

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat grill to medium heat.

Step 2: Grill the tomatoes whole about 1-2 minutes each side (this step is optional but it adds a lot of flavor).

Step 3: Chop the tomatoes. (I find it easiest to cut the tomato in even slices, then cut them into “sticks” then “cubes”.)

Step 4: Mix tomatoes with garlic, olive oil, and salt and sugar.

Use to make your favorite pizza.
